Ditemui pada 1896 oleh seorang ahli Fizik bernama James Kerr. Peringkat awal dikenali sebagai ‘kebutaan huruf’.
Kemudian seorang Professor Jerman Karl Kussiman telah melabelkannya sebagai masalah Pembelajaran Khusus Disleksia.
Disleksia dari Bahasa Greek:
DYS – kesukaran.
LEXIS- Perkataan
Kesukaran dalam menggunakan perkataan.
1. Word Federation Of Neurology ( 68 ) sebagai kecelaruan berbahasa di kalangan murid-murid yang telah mengalami pembelajaran dalam kelas biasa tetapi gagal untuk memperolehi kemahiran membaca ,menulis , dan mengeja separa dengan kebolehan intelektual mereka

Jenis-Jenis Disleksia
1. Disleksia pandangan (Visual)
Dpt melihat dgn baik tetapi tdk dpt membeza, membuat interpretasi atau mengingat perkataan yg dilihat .
2. Disleksia pendengaran (audio)
Murid tdk dpt membezakan persamaan atau perbezaan antara bunyi ,dan mengadun bunyi menjadi perkataan.
3.Disleksia Visual dan Audio

Kanak-kanak disleksia memerlukan kaedah dan strategi pengajaran dan pembelajaran yang berbeza berbanding dengan kanak-kanak normal bersama dengan pelaksanaan Rancangan Pendidikan Individu (RPI).

The Inclusive Education Program focuses on education for students with special needs who can attend regular classes with appropriate help given to them) and enable them to follow teaching and learning alongside their typical peers.

Inclusive education is important to be implemented in line with education policy in Malaysia to provide equal educational opportunities and maximum access to education for all students regardless of race, ethnic or religion. The Special Education Program was introduced based on the recommendations and prompts of several declarations at the international level. Among the declarations that form the basis for special education in Malaysia is The Framework for Action on Special Needs Education, 1994, which focuses on educational policies, policies and practices for children and people with special needs. The Salamanca Framework of Action certifies the rights and opportunities children with special needs to get an education and have opportunity to achieve and maintain the level of learning received. Meanwhile, the pedagogy of inclusive education needs to be emphasized to ensure that inclusive education can be implemented more effectively.
